The Village Hall is an attractive venue for social gatherings, weddings and parties. It is particularly good for children’s parties as there is easy access to the playing field is now equipped with a new playground. The hall and playing field are situated within a designated “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty” in the picturesque village of Wildhern.

In February 2007 the car park was enlarged allowing for more cars to be parked safely and to give manoeuvring room and in 2008 additional hard standing has been laid at the front of the hall.

FACILITIES:

The hall is licensed to hold:-

180 persons standing
100 seated in rows
94 seated at tables

 

Kitchen 15’ x 11’
The kitchen is equipped with a micro wave, oven and hob and dishwasher.

There is sufficient crockery & cutlery for 96 place sets with glass and water jugs which can be used by hirers. Furniture includes 10 tables 6x2.6 seating 8, 6 square folding tables, 10 smaller rectangular tables and 100 red folding chairs. There are also 60 upholstered chairs (which we ask are NOT used for childrens' parties)

 

The Main Hall 46' x 20’

The main hall has a 2-piece movable stage which measures 13’ wide x 6’ deep x 1’ high

Committee Room 18’ x 11
The small committee room off the main hall (centre of picture) has a hatch access to the kitchen and ideal for displaying and serving food at large parties.

There is parking for 20+ cars plus disabled parking spaces and wheelchair access to the hall. Extra car parking can be provided on request on the playing field. The toilet facilities provide for disabled persons and a changing facilities for babies.

The new childrens playground is now complete and is close to the hall and parking area and has picnic tables and benches.

The Tangley Parish Village Hall is a registered charity and is run by the Village Hall Management Committee (Chairman Steve Clark)

For weddings and parties a non-returnable deposit is required at the time of booking. This includes use of hall, meeting room, kitchen and equipment including some crockery and cutlery.

If the Hall is required for part of the prior day for setting up, an additional charge may be incurred.

Hire rates include lighting and heating.

Hirers are requested to leave the hall clean & tidy for the next hirer and return of their deposit. All rubbish generated by the hirer must be put in the wheelie bin and a new bin liner inserted in the kitchen waste bin (liners in cupboard under sink in kitchen.

These facilities are also available for hire to Caravan Clubs and organisations at the following rates:
Caravan or Tent £4.50 per night

Use of Hall will be at the same rates as Non-Residents (see above)
During Caravan Rallies, parishioners are requested to use only the play area of the playing field as the caravan clubs have paid to hire the field and therefore may have planned activities on the field. The income from hiring our facilities helps to fund the upkeep of the hall and the Management Committee would appreciate parishioners support in this matter.

The Village Hall is the base for two local clubs:-

- Andover Radio Amateur Club who meet on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month

- Andover Model Railway Club who usually meet every Wednesday.

The Coffee morning is normally held on the first Thursday of every month 10.30 – 12pm. All are welcome.

The Village Hall Management Committee welcomes new members and ideas for fundraising events which can be organised to further enhance our facilities.
